Real promises. Real accountability.
A campaign promise, with money behind it.
A promise should mean something. CivicBond lets candidates back a specific commitment with their own money, held in independent escrow.

Talk is cheap.
A bond isn’t.
Richard Ryan explains the idea: a clear commitment, money held independently, and an outcome judged by the public record.

02 ·How it works
Three steps.
Something at stake.
The candidate chooses the commitment and the amount. The agreement sets the terms. Everyone can see what happens next.
- 01
Define the promise.
An advocacy group or civic organization works with a candidate to define a specific, measurable commitment. Clear terms. A public record.
- 02
Put money behind it.
The candidate deposits their own funds with an independent escrow custodian. Neither CivicBond nor the drafting group holds the money.
- 03
Make it accountable.
CivicBond verifies the agreement and deposit. Keep the commitment, the funds return. Break it, the funds go to the designated public beneficiary.
03 ·The reason
Conviction
has a price.
Campaign promises cost nothing to make. We think keeping them should have something real behind it.
CivicBond is a neutral registrar. Advocacy groups and candidates define the commitments. We verify the agreement and the deposit, publish the bond, and make the terms visible.
We’re starting with local races, where a single council vote can decide a contract, a development, or a public program. Specific promises. Checkable actions. Accountability close to home.
